Advanced to expert skiers can enjoy about 50 percent of Schweitzer’s 2,900 acres, making it an ideal ski vacation destination for seasoned skiers or snowboarders and those looking for some thrills. While the “front-side” of the mountain offers several great challenges for those looking for speed and steeps—thanks to Schweitzer’s winch groomers. The place for experienced skiers and boarders is decidedly Outback Bowl. This area which is accessed via the Great Escape Quad or Sunny Side chairlift features everything from fast, fun advanced intermediate runs to double black diamonds. Extreme skiers and snowboarders will delight in the many steep chutes, glades and wide-open skiing in this zone.
