Ski.com, a privately held company, is currently the largest ski tour operator in the country. Founded in 1971 as S&L Travel, its founding partners are still with the company today. S&L Travel became Aspen Ski Tours in 1974 and in 1999 the company acquired the Ski.com website and took the Ski.com name for its operations. In September, 2004 Ski.com acquired Lynx Vacations, GoWest Tours, Adventures on Skis, Sportours and AnyMountain Tours in order to expand its domestic operations and to provide international and group travel.
