Now that all four mountains in Aspen have closed their lifts, summer is officially on its way in, kicking off officially Memorial Day Weekend, May 27–29. Along with daily summer operations also comes new changes on the mountain!

Snowmass Bike Park Expansion
With the help of world-renowned trail builders, Gravity Logic, three new bike trails are set to debut in Snowmass Bike Park this summer. These trails will include a green, blue and black, which will add seven miles to the park. Last summer, Snowmass introduced the rerouted Vapor trail, increasing the mileage from 2.9 to 3.3. Snowmass Bike Park is comprised of over 50 miles of trail with a 2,893-foot vertical descent.

Aspen Mountain Enhancement Plan Continues
Aspen Skiing Company began the process of enhancing the top of Aspen Mountain for summer use in 2015, and this year a new slide and log rope staircase will be installed, along with refurbishing the obstacle course. Future plans include creating more play opportunities for children and improving guest amenities.
Farm to Table Dinners
The popular dinners at Elk Camp restaurant, located mid-mountain on Snowmass, will continue for their third year, with expanded dates, staring on July 11 and running every Tuesday through August 15. The dining experience includes a gondola ride to the restaurant, locally-sourced ingredients, a cash bar, outdoor family activities and live music. Food and beverages are sourced from Crystal River Meats, Rock Bottom Ranch, Farm Runners, Woody Creek Distillery, The Roaring Fork Beer Co., Marble Distillery and Aspen Beer Co. Five percent of food sales will go to the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies and The Roaring Fork Conservancy.
Snowmass Bike Park Nights
In conjunction with the Farm to Table Dinners at Elk Camp restaurant, Snowmass Bike Park will remain open until dusk every Tuesday from July 11–Aug. 15.
Aspen Snowmass Slated to Host Enduro World Series Mountain Bike Race
Aspen Snomwass will host the U.S. stop of the Enduro World Series for the second year July 29–30, blending high altitude with some of the biggest descents and best riding in the area. The Enduro World Series proudly uncovers the world's best mountain bike destinations through eight rounds of racing across three continents, and including venues in Chile, Argentina, France and Aspen Snowmass, who will host five of the eight rounds.

Stars Above Aspen
This community astronomy night is back for another season by popular demand, in conjunction with the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies and Aspen Science Center. The event will take place August 14 on top of Aspen Mountain, giving guests the opportunity to gaze through telescopes, learn about constellations and enjoy presentations from scientists. The night also includes dinner options at the Sundeck and family-friendly activities.
